Use cases
How do I?
Model how many individuals we could prevent from moving into higher settings if a specific/relevant intervention was put into place? i.e. how many might benefit from extra care etc..
In the Whatif scenario planning tool, choose a cohort for whom the intervention would be applied.
Estimate the impact that the intervention is likely to have on
the number of new users
likelihood of requiring dom care or
the likelihood of requiring residential care
Amend the transition rates in the Whatif model
Run the model
The model out put will show the primary measures for the two scenarios - with and without the intervention in place
Assess whether certain interventions lead to cost avoidance
- See above.
Assess the value of Kingfisher
- First you would need to identify the service users for which you think Kingfisher would potentially be beneficial. Then create a cohort of these users in the cohort creator. So this might be a groups of users with specific attributes that can be specified in the cohort creator - e.g. people of a certain age with a specific care type [e.g. dom care] or a specific group of service users chosen by WCCIS ID
- Then you would need to estimate the impact the intervention is likely to have on
- the number of new users
- likelihood of requiring dom care or
- the likelihood of requiring residential care
- Amend the transition rates in the Whatif model
- Run the model
- The model out put will show the primary measures for the two scenarios - with and without the intervention in place
Find out how many people get direct payments... by condition or disability complexity of need โ is it a more creative efficient way of people getting the care they need
- Create a cohort of users who get Direct Payments in the Cohort Creator by choosing Care Type - Direct Payments
- The Demand Profile for this Cohort will provide a number of metrics about this cohort including the number of service users.
- If you want to do analysis by primary support reason you would need to create a separate cohort for each need.
Identify when care requirements are creeping upwards? AND Get list of service users who's dom care packages have increased in the last period
- Create a cohort of users who have had an increase in care need - you can specify whether this is an increase in cost, or amount of dom care provision, and over what timescales
- The Demand Profile for this Cohort will provide a number of metrics about this cohort including a clickable list of service users.
See how many people are in each "ring" in each patch
- Create a cohort of users for each Patch
- The Demand Profile for this Cohort will provide a number of metrics about this cohort including the number of Service users in each Ring.
Find out what is the average cost of each ring?
- In Demand Profile select the "All users" Cohort
- The Demand Profile for this Cohort will provide a number of metrics about this cohort including the average cost of each Ring.
See users broken down by patch at the touch of a button
- Create a cohort of users for each Patch
- The Demand Profile for this Cohort will provide a number of metrics about this cohort including the number of Service users and cost information.
Identify if certain characteristics are present in high cost packages, providers, Care Managers, Demographics?
- Create a cohort of users who have high cost packages - you can define cohorts based on their weekly cost and other parameters
- The Demand Profile for this Cohort will provide a number of metrics about this cohort including a clickable list of service users.
